BEAHEROMEN.com came about during my Dad's 70th birthday party January 2009.  The word HERO for me stands for H = Husband, E = Endurance, R = Role Model, & O = Offering, which is my dad and which I too want to be to my wife, kids, and family.

I was asked by my mother to give a speech at my dad's 70th birthday party to honor him in his life during his golden years.  I thought to myself, "what an honor it would be to be able to speak about my dad and what he means to me his son and to the rest of my family and his own kids".   As I thought about my dad, who he was, where he came from, what he had become, it became very clear to me as a 42 year old man, married and with 3 boys that there was really only one thing I could say to him, and that would be to tell him he is my HERO!!!

You see, thinking about this great honor to speak about my father who was blessed to make it to 70 was pretty amazing.  I thought to myself, "what do you get a man who is 70? What could he possibly want that he doesn't already have?" It was then I began to think of his life from a young single man, to marriage with his bride, to having four children, raising those children and then celebrating 48 years of marriage with my mother.  Now as I too go through those same steps I realize all the things that my father had done for his family and how important it was to have a man like my dad in my life, my mother's and sibling's lives.

So after plenty of time praying and thinking about what to get my dad for his birthday I came up the idea to make him a shirt celebrating 4 characteristics that make him my HERO.

H = Stands for HUSBAND. A man who is dedicated to his bride throughout a life time, loving her and cherishing her.

E = Stands for ENDURANCE. A man who endures through the good times and the very hard times in his relationship with his wife and his children.

R = Stands for ROLE MODEL. A man who leads by example, teaching his son how to take care of his family.

O = Stands for OFFERING. A man who offers his very own life to his wife and his kids for their well being.

With this idea I created a HERO shirt for my dad and for all men who need to be encouraged to be a HERO today for their wife or family.

It is my desire to see men be HERO's to their wives, to love them, be patient with them, understand them and be there for them. To endure and to be there for his family during the hard times and the good times. To be a role model to his children and to anyone he comes in contact with during his lifetime. Lastly to become a living sacrifice to his family giving up many things for the well being of his family.

I now know that it is hard to be a HERO in today's society, but I am here to encourage all men to be HERO's to their families no matter what the cost! If you would like that challange, you too can get a HERO shirt today!
