Endurance = In people is usually used in 'long' types of exertion - minutes for high intensity exercise, hours or days for low intensity.

To the husband that means ENDURING through all types of events that take place in a family.  It means being their for his wife during the hard times and the good times.  It means loving your kids when they are going through the terrible two's or going through the teenage years.

For the man who wants to be a HERO to his family it means toughing out all circumstances for the well being of his wife and his children.
